blasé

对某事物司空见惯、不以为然（法语借词） — Cal 说 "You can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about Titanic"，发音和拼写都保留法语特色，带一点故作淡定的贵族语气：They are blasé about their driving skills.

luxurious

They stayed in a luxurious hotel suite.

impress

留下深刻好印象 — Cal 抱怨 "Your daughter is far too difficult to impress"，为后续 Rose 根本不吃这一套的反差埋下伏笔：The Grand Canyon never fails to impress.

feet

英尺（长度单位，foot 的复数，1 foot ≈ 30.48 公分） — "It's over 100 feet longer than Mauretania"，注意作数量形容词修饰名词时反而用单数：a 6-foot man：The ship is nearly 900 feet long.

💬

see

理解，明白（不是"看见"） — Rose 说 "I don't see what all the fuss is about"，这个意思上是瞬间的理解，不用进行时（不说 I'm seeing what you mean）："It opens like this." "Oh, I see."

over

= more than，超过（口语中常直接接数字） — "It's over 100 feet longer than Mauretania"，比 more than 更随口、更常直接搭配数字：It's over 80 degrees outside.

一点也（不）……，用于加强否定比较 — Rose 说 "It doesn't look any bigger than the Mauretania"，比单纯 not bigger than 语气更强烈：I didn't eat any meat.

🧩

what's all the fuss about

有什么好大惊小怪的，至于吗 — Rose 一开场就说 "I don't see what all the fuss is about"，是全片她叛逆、满不在乎性格的第一个信号：It's a very ordinary movie — I don't know what all the fuss is about.

far more...than

— "far more luxurious" 用 far 加强比较级语气，比 much/a lot 更书面、更正式：This method is far more efficient than the old one.

far too...to

太……太……了（难上加难） — Cal 抱怨 "Your daughter is far too difficult to impress"，far 加强 too difficult 的语气，与前面 far more 呼应，是 Cal 的口头习惯：This puzzle is far too difficult to solve alone.
