roommate

I'm looking for a new roommate to share the rent.

protector

保护人，保护者 — Max 自称是 Katie 忠诚的 protector，动词 protect 加后缀 -or 构成表示"人"的名词，类似 act→actor：He's always been my biggest protector.

soul mate

Some people believe everyone has a soul mate out there.

crate

The dog was calm inside its travel crate.

💬

I got something for ya.

boy

Oh boy! That's a huge surprise.

whatever

You're wrong." "Whatever."

man

Hey man, long time no see!

🎬

get this

And get this — the whole trip only cost $50.

the next thing I know

I fell asleep, and the next thing I know, it was morning.

I'm just saying

I'm just saying, maybe we should double-check the numbers.

go so far as to

竟然做到；甚至做出（极端的行为） — Max 说 "I wouldn't go so far as to call us soul mates"，用来强调某种行为或说法程度之极端：I wouldn't go so far as to say it's the best movie ever.
