wheelchair

轮椅 — Louisa 提到 Will 有辆为轮椅改装的车，wheel（轮子）+ chair（椅子）是很直观的复合词：She's been using a wheelchair since the accident.

support group

互助小组 — Will 讽刺地问 "Have you found a good quad support group I could join?"，常见于医疗、心理健康语境：She joined a grief support group after her loss.

quad

= quadriplegic 的口语简称，四肢瘫痪者 — Will 用这个简短、带自嘲意味的说法称呼自己，是他一贯用黑色幽默包装痛苦的说话方式：He's part of a local quad support network.

exist

get on

usually

通常地（most often，几乎每次但不绝对） — Louisa 问 "What do you usually do?"，频率副词排序：always > usually > often > sometimes：What time do you usually get up?

a bit

一点儿（弱化语气，让请求听起来更随意） — "get to know each other a bit"，放在句尾能软化整句话的语气：He looked a bit embarrassed.

实用结构短语

it would be nice if

果真如此就好了（虚拟语气，委婉表达期望） — Camilla 说 "It would be nice if he could think of you as a friend"，比直接说 I hope 更委婉、更留有余地：It would be nice if you could come to the party.

have...in mind

心里想着（某个具体计划） — Will 反问 "Where do you have in mind?"，常用于对方提出模糊建议时要求给出具体细节：What restaurant do you have in mind?

a breath of fresh air

一口新鲜空气；比喻令人耳目一新的人或事 — Will 讽刺地说 "would be good for me. A breath of fresh air"，这里用的是字面老套说法，带着自嘲：She's a breath of fresh air in this office.

get to know each other

逐渐互相认识 — Louisa 提议 "perhaps we could get to know each other a bit"，比单纯的 know sb 更强调"过程"而非"结果"：Let's spend some time to get to know each other.
